Saint Gonsalo Garcia Saint Gonsalo Garcia, O.F.M. , (1556 – 5 February 1597) was a Roman Catholic Franciscan friar from Portuguese India, who died as a martyr in Japan and is venerated as a saint, one of the Twenty-six Martyrs of Japan so venerated.  ST.John Brito                   A TRUE MODEL FOR PASSION John de Brito was the scion of a powerful aristocratic Portuguese family; his father, Salvador de Brito Pereira, died while serving as Viceroy of the Portuguese colony of Brazil. He joined the Jesuits in 1662, studying at the famous University of Coimbra. He traveled to the missions of Madurai, in Southern India, present-day Tamil Nad, in 1673 and preached the Christian religion in the region of the Maravar country. He renamed himself Arul Anandar (அருளானந்தர்) in Tamil. The ruler of the Maravar country imprisoned him in 1684. Having been expelled, he returned to Lisbon in 1687 and worked as a missions procurator. King Pedro II wanted him to stay, but in 1690 he returned to the Maravar country with 24 new missionaries. ജോൺ ബോസ്‌കോ   A LOVER OF YOUTH......  1815 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 16 - ന് ഇറ്റലിയിലെ പൈഡ്‌മോണ്ടിൽ ജനിച്ചു. 1888 ജനുവരി 31-ന് 72 ആം വയസ്സിൽ അന്തരിച്ചു. 1931 ഏപ്രിൽ 1 - ന് പയസ് പതിനൊന്നാമൻ മാർപാപ്പ റോമിൽ വച്ച് ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിശുദ്ധനായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. John Bosco was born in the evening of 16 August 1815 in the hillside hamlets of Becchi, Italy. He was the youngest son of Francesco Bosco (1784–1817) and Margherita Occhiena. He had two older brothers, Antonio and Giuseppe (1813–1862). The Boscos of Becchis were farmhands of the Moglian Family. John Bosco was born into a time of great shortage and famine in the Piedmonteses countryside, following the devastation wrought by the Napoleonic wars and a drought in 1817.
