A starting to new era,starting to a new life

Faith and Justice: The year of mercy reminds us that mercy is not only shown by God. It should also be shown by us. We who have experienced mercy must in turn grant it to others.

Pope Francis has called on Catholics around the world to use the ongoing Jubilee year of mercy to "open wide" the doors of their hearts to forgive others.

The Holy Year of Mercy will be an opportunity to encourage Christians to meet people's "real needs" with concrete assistance, to experience a "true pilgrimage" on foot, and to send "missionaries of mercy" throughout the world to forgive even the most serious of sins, said Archbishop Rino Fisichella.
The yearlong extraordinary jubilee also will include several individual jubilee days, such as for the Roman Curia, catechists, teenagers and prisoners, said the president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, the office organizing events for the Holy Year of Mercy.
During a news conference Tuesday at the Vatican, Fisichella unveiled the official prayer, logo, calendar of events and other details of the special Holy Year, which will be celebrated from Dec. 8 to Nov. 20, 2016.

The motto, "Merciful Like the Father," he said, "serves as an invitation to follow the merciful example of the Father who asks us not to judge or condemn but to forgive and to give love and forgiveness without measure."
Pope Francis announced in March his intention to proclaim a holy year as a way for the church to "make more evident its mission to be a witness of mercy."

വി . എവുപ്രാസ്യാമ്മ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്ന അമ്മ ജനനം : 1877 ഒക്ടോബർ 17 വെള്ളിക്കുളങ്ങര, തൃശ്ശൂർ , കേരളം മരണം 1952 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 29 (പ്രായം 74) തൃശ്ശൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ കാട്ടൂർ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ എലുവത്തിങ്കൽ ചേർപ്പുക്കാരൻ സിറോ മലബാർ തറവാട്ടിൽ അന്തോണിയുടെയും കുഞ്ഞേത്തിയുടെയും മകളായാണ് റോസ എന്ന എവുപ്രാസ്യമ്മ ജനിച്ചത്. ഒമ്പതാം വയസിൽതന്നെ കർമലീത്താ സഭയിൽ അംഗമായി. പിന്നീട് സഭാവസ്ത്രം സ്വീകരിച്ച് എവുപ്രാസ്യമ്മ എന്ന പേരു സ്വീകരിച്ചു. ഒല്ലൂർ സെന്റ് മേരീസ് മഠത്തിൽ 45 വർഷത്തോളം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. 1987-ൽ സഭ ദൈവദാസിയായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. 'പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്ന അമ്മ' എന്ന് ഇവരെ വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു. 2006 ഡിസംബർ മൂന്നിന് കത്തോലിക്കാ സഭ എവുപ്രാസ്യമ്മയെ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവളായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. 2014 നവംബർ 23-ന് ഫ്രാൻസിസ് മാർപ്പാപ്പ ഇവരെ വിശുദ്ധ എന്ന് നാമകരണം ചെയ്തു.

ഫാദർ ഡാമിയൻ ബൽജിയത്തിലെ ട്രമലോയിൽ കച്ചവടക്കാരനായ ജോനാസ് ഫ്രാൻസിസ്കസ് ഡെ വ്യുസ്റ്ററിന്റെയും ആനി കാതറൈൻ ഡെ വ്യുസ്റ്ററിന്റെയും ഏഴാമത്തെ പുത്രനായി 1840 ജനുവരി 3നു ജോസഫ് ഡെ വ്യുസ്റ്റർ ജനിച്ചു. ബ്രെയ്നെ ലെ കോംറ്റോയിൽ കോളേജ് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനു ശേഷം ല്യൂവെൻ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു 'കോൺഗ്രിഗേഷൻ ഓഫ് ദ സേക്രട്ട് ഹാർട്ട് ഓഫ് ജീസസ് ആൻഡ് മേരി' എന്ന സന്യാസസഭയിൽ ചേർന്ന ജോസഫ് ഡെ വ്യുസ്റ്റർ ആദ്യ വ്രതത്തോടൊപ്പം ഡാമിയൻ എന്ന പേരു സ്വീകരിച്ചു. മിഷണറി ജോലികൾക്കായി വിദേശത്തേയ്ക്കു പോവുക എന്ന തന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ നടക്കാതെ പോയ മോഹം ഏറ്റെടുത്ത്, ഫാദർ ഡാമിയൻ ഒരു വിദേശദൗത്യത്തിനായി പുറപ്പെട്ടു. 1864 മാർച്ച് 19നു ഹോണോലുലു കടൽതീരത്ത് ഫാദർ ഡാമിയൻ ഒരു മിഷണറിയായി കപ്പലിറങ്ങി. 1864 മെയ് 24നു ഹോണോലുലുവിലെ ഔവർ ലേഡി ഓഫ് പീസ് കത്തീഡ്രൽപള്ളിയിൽ വച്ച് അദ്ദേഹം പൗരോഹിത്യ കൂദാശ സ്വീകരിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് പൊതുജനാരോഗ്യരംഗത്ത് പ്രതിസന്ധികൾ നിലനിന്നിരുന്ന ഒവാഹു ദ്വീപിലെ പല ഇടവകകളിലും അദ്ദേഹം സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. ഹവായ് ദ്വീപിലെത്തുന്ന വിദേശീയരായ കച്ചവടക്കാരും, നാവികരും, ഹവായിയൻ ജനതയ്ക്കു വിവിധ രോഗങ്ങൾ സമ്മാനിച്ചിരുന്നു. മുൻപൊരിക്കല...

Saint Gonsalo Garcia Saint Gonsalo Garcia, O.F.M. , (1556 – 5 February 1597) was a Roman Catholic Franciscan friar from Portuguese India, who died as a martyr in Japan and is venerated as a saint, one of the Twenty-six Martyrs of Japan so venerated. The first Indian born to attain sainthood was born in the western coastal town of Vasai, now an exurb of the city of Mumbai, he hailed from the town—then known as Baçaim in Portuguese, later Bassein in English—during the time the town was under Portuguese colonial rule. The festival of St. Gonsalo has come to be held on the first Sunday nearest to the neap tide following Christmas in Vasai. St. Gonsalo Garcia was born as Gonçalo Garcia in 1557. Documents in the Lisbon Archives (ANTT) describe Gonsalo Garcia as a ‘natural de Agaçaim ’ or ‘resident of agashi’ village in Bassein.
